Hello, I am new to this site, but I like it very much.

I have a 1990, 240 SX and it will not crank over. It is getting 12.30 volts to the plug that connects to the starter wire, but not any power to the starter. I used a jumper to bypass that wire on the starter solenoid and the thing still will not crank over. I used a remote starter switch connected to the +side of the battery and to the starter solenoid, and it cranks over every time. What would keep it from showing 12v at the solenoid besides a bad wire on the solenoid? Thanks

Could be the safety switch on the clutch pedal, starter relay or possibly the ignition switch.Check your fuses too.BTW welcome to NICO!

Thanks, I bypassed the clutch relay (clutch interlock switch) and no change. How do you bypass the starter relay? is this the same as the interlock relay?

Thanks again

I fixed it! Thanks to this site, it turned out to be the starter relay. I called Nissan and they had it in stock for 30.00.

How far was the power from ignition switch getting? I thought you said power was getting to plug at starter? The relay controls power from ignition switch on that wire.

When i read his first post i assumed that he was getting b+ voltage to the starter but no starter signal. But after reading it again i can see your point.I'll finish my coffee first the next time!

At first I was getting power to the starter, but no start. Then after messing with things a bit I had no power at the starter. I can't explain it, not sure what was the change.
