Engine Weight

Does anyone have the total weight of the SR20DET with all accessories or strictly the block+head at least. Looking to compare different I4 engine weights and the SR20 is my current research project.

The article in SCC about the SR20det swap, says the SR20 with the transmission, alternator and turbo weighs 490lbs.Chris

What about the KA24DE how much does that weigh in at?

the ka is like 5 or 10 lbs more then the sr

yes, the KA block, head, intake and exhaust manifold and accessories weighs about as much as the SR block, head, intake, turbo assembly, accessories and transmission...

SCC said the pulled KA24e weighed in at 493lbs. I dont know if there is a weight difference between the KA24e and the KA24de.Chris

I think that there is a pretty significant difference in weight, now with my swap finished I notice a huge wheel gap increase in the front of the car. Probably because its lighter right?

I will agree I dont know the weight of the two motors, but when I pulled my KA24DE out, and put in the SR motor I had about a 2" gap in the fender well, so I am no expert but that is a big weight difference ...

i do know the ka24e does wheigh more than the de and sr. I could really tell when i was at the track. With old motor it took me and a friend to push the car.... now witht he sr.... I do it with ease... dunno if im gettn stronger or...
