Engine Weight info?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

I've been looking around google for some place that might have the weight of various engines listed but no luck so far.

Mainly to look up how much the GM 5.3l (LM4, LM7) weighs as an option for a swap as they tend to be fairly cheap..

Anyway, anyone know of a site like that or just off hand how much a 5.3 weighs?

No too sure on those, but the alternator and the intake / throttle body sit very high on those. Hood clearance would be tight in some cars. But you could swap the intake and TB with a LS1/LS6 no problem. But the Alt still sits up high on the front right sife

yeah, that's what I've heard...I figured swapping out some stock ls1/ls6 stuff would be the way to go, though I didn't know about the alternator. (thanks for that info)

Though right now I'm trying to formulate the weight difference between them. Basically what'd I'd have to try to shave off.

Wouldn't want a really nose heavy S14...

Yeah I got my engine for 2800 with 43K on it, its a LS1/6 mix. Lighter then a KA. A LQ is a good motor, but its like a standard small block. I would say probably 400lbs
