I am planning a VQ swap on a 240Z. I am wondering if anyone knows what the stock iron block weighs? Just how much lighter if any is the VQ?

I don't know the weight of the L24 but I assume it would be a little less than an RB series engine as its only single cam. I have an accurate weight of 148kg for the VQ30DET without turbo and exhaust manifold and I would imagine the VQ35DE weighs quite similarly.

that means the VQ is ~ 35lbs lighter than a comparable L series. Though when you add the extra weight of the tranny you pretty much come in at a wash.
