Get a jack and a block of wood and jack the motor up by the oil pan, be careful not to dent it, and the transmission will slide out with some wiggling. I have took the transmission of an sr 240 many of times, and you have to do that for it to come out.

you need to figure out a way to tilt the engine. You should be able to pull the transmission out without doing anything. But when it goes back in it needs to be at an angle. What I did was I unhooked the muffler from the hangers and used the weight of the exhaust to tilt the engine.

Another way you can lower the engine is to loosen the engine cradle bolts. That inch is just enough to get it in.

Genius!

You really need to get a service manual. And hooking an engine hoist to the front of the motor or front of the intake/exhaust mani will get the tilt you need.

You also need to search some, stop cluttering the forums with useless threads, but I'm not going to give up on you...

I just did a KA/SR transmission swap and I backed down the 4 bolts in the K member and lowered the entire engine. It worked fine for me. The SR bellhousing is much more square at the top then the KA and can be a Bi#@$ to get in and out. If you want some tilt when you put it back in just tighten the front bolts just a little. It will make the input shaft slide right in.
