engine virbrations

i recantly rebuilt my motor in my 240 and when i fired it up the engine runs real ruff and shakes from side to side? now i had to replace both intake valves on the 4th cylinder. not seated right? i aslo tryed doing away with most the vacuum. could that be problem? i have not did a compression check or hooked up a timing light, so do u think it maybe just off time? let me now what u think. thxs
