Once the engine warms up the vibration becomes very noticeable. The motor rocks right to left, the idle flucuates from 500-800rpms +/-50rpms. I don't think its the engine or transmission mounts mainly due to the fact that the exhaust note matches the shaking. It sounds to me like a misfire sound (sounds very close to the point of a backfire) if the rpms are brought up at idle to 2500rpms the shaking goes away for the most part though.

I've checked the spark plugs/wires, ground, dist. cap/rotor. All are in good condition and properly order. I want to check the timing out tommorow gotta get a timing light and book for procedure. I heard that it's possible that the knock sensor might be the culprit as well as the 02 sensor. I checked the 02 sensor at the manifold there is a slight dent on the outside of it. Not sure if that good at all, will probably get the universal bosch 02 as a replacement.

its most probrobly not timing related. the ecu compensates for the timing on its own for the most part. i run mine all the way advanced it helps alot on power and response and it runs fine.

Well the timing is correct. Some other symptoms are a slight jerking while cruising. Car runs fine at high speeds though. I'll be checking for any leaks tommorow, as well as replacing the fuel filter,02 sensor. Any other ideas, last resort change the ks.Does anyone know if the knock sensor from other nissan cars IE: 95 maxima would work, I looked up the part #s on some sites and they are identical.
