had this problem a few days agoi just put in my gas tank some Lucas and everything is as good as new

that is probably a good first start, just put it in the gas tank and let it run for like 15 to 20 minutes. I did that to mine and it worked.

If that doesn't work, you might want to get some new injectors. Deatschwerks have been known to be a good product for injectors at a great price. Also, bad mounts and ive heard that vacuum leaks can also cause this engine shaking problem.

d!ck in an old thread wrote:from skimming your issue it sounds more like a dead injector causing the car to run on 3 cylinders, thereby misfiring and causing the car to "shake."

my car did the EXACT same thing with this issue, it would balance out above a certain rpm and drive more smoothly, but still be running on only 3 cylinders. the fact that it happens at idle rules out the driveshaft. if it were motor mounts it wouldnt be intermittent.

what you need to do is let the car idle and unplug one spark plug wire at a time moving from the front to the rear replacing them as you go. if the idle gets worse, you know that cylinder is good. when you pull a wire and the shaking doesn't change, you know that cylinder has no fuel, spark or compression.

try it and post the results here.
did you TRY searching?

It's not becasue of abuse. 240s are failry old and parts won't last forever. It's been moving up and down so many times, parts just go bad and stops working.

youre 17 and think you know everything huh? you sure as hell didnt know that you posted this in the wrong forum, for beginners. try tech next time to keep the "f***" out of your threads champ

if you dont care about search, you must not care about being a member. you need to follow the guidelines and respect people that could potentially help you or **** you over.

so did you start pulling your spark plug wires to find a dead cylinder yet? that would be the first and easiest thing to do.

if you have a dead cylinder, its not getting fuel, air or spark. that or it has no compression. Start with the spark test, make sure the plug is arcing and the wire is connected.

then look for a dead fuel injector. you can do this by "wiggling" the connector on top of the injector or removing/replacing it to look for an easy solution in a bad connection. If that doesnt work and the wiring looks good, pop the injector out and swap it with one from another cylinder (Its a simple procedure but requires effort and care so as not to damage the injectors when removing them). If the dead cylinder follows the injector from #3, assume that the injector has gone and needs to be replaced.

If #3 cyl is still dead with a known good injector, do a compression test. odds are against this being the culprit if only one cylinder is effected.

good luck.

[QUOTE=d!ck]results DO come up, you cant search right is the issue. QUOTE]

NO THE SEARCH FUNCTION ON THIS SITE SUCKS! I have searched a large number of times and ony once or twice do I get ANY result. It usualy takes 4 or 5 trys using various terms to even come close to some kind of result.

That is why there are so many new posts on old subjects. Unless you just happen to hit on the one term a thread is searchable by you wont find it.

I have had better luck useing Google to search and find threads on NICO than useing the built in NICO search function.

BTW I am an well over 17 and experianced in useing search engines. If all you wnt is for people to search then dump the threads and open a search ony site. People come here to get information they can use. If the search function is useless then they have no choice but to post.

My apologies for Thread Jacking.

i find stuff im looking for 100% of the time. its not idiot-proof, if it takes you 4-5 tries o find your thread you may want to start worrying about becoming one. .

seriously, more people CAN use it correctly than people like you who CAN NOT, that SHOULD say something about your ability in a relative sense.

if you want to ***** about your problems with the site, take it to the right section of the forums or else send an email to a mod... that is IF you can find their info

about the Lucas, its a little bottle that you put in your gas tank that cleans out your fuel system and helps to clean out injectors without the hassle of removing the injectors.

Just go to you local auto parts and find some fuel additives that clean out your fuel system. I use Lucas b/c ive heard great things about the company and it has worked its charm on my 240sx.
