Engine Used Help for 240SX

I have a 92 240SX my son trashed the engine, car is mint I want to save it, what engines can I use and what modifications are need for different years. I see where there is a single cam ka24e, can I use this I know it ain't the same performance wise, but I need my car back on the road. What do I need to know to but a used engine and get it installed by someone, thank you, I want to save my car. I anyone would like to buy to save let me know I will send pictures. Someone has a 95 engine, what would the mechanic need to change to install, thank you.

i'm not sure about the laws in st. louis, but in california, you cant put in an engine from an older car (i.e. 1990 ka24e into a 1992), but you can put in an engine from a newer car, (regardless of make and model).before anything, you might wanna check the legalities in your state

Along in 95 & 96 engines were changed over to the obd11 systems. I am not sure but I think if you use a 95 or up engine you will have to change out the intake and the distributor, use your present one.
