currently have a SOHC and it's about to die. all the oil went to the radiator
i need the new engine for my DD for now..... track later.

I need your opinions from you guys. :ohno:

:::: this is not i really want to do (SR20 swap) but i want to know if it's possible with $2500. everything is stock except inter-cooler and rad from ISIS. :::

1: buy a KA24DE motor (bad rings) and rebuild it. rebuilt kit quality = sightly better than OEM. have some $$ left and goes toward the suspension upgrade.

2: buy a KA24DE motor (working condition) drop it in my coupe and drive it until i have enough $$ for SR20 swap.

labor? I will do all this by myself.

thanks./// :)

Option 1, depending on the rebuild kit...

option 3 would be to replace your headgasket on the single cam..

or option 2a
get running ka and boost it. You might forget about an sr or will be able to hold off longer so you can really get what you want.(running ka down here goes for less than 600bux)
option 2b
running ka and most of the suspension you plan to get.

option 4 buy a running sr for 2500bux.

A CA18 could be certainly gotten on the cheap, plus should be okay on gas for a daily.

Just buy a used ( running) and swap it in. Drive until the world ends.

SR does not equal a good DD especially with your limited funds. go dohc and deal with it
