Anyone know the size of the bolts holding the plastic engine undercover piece on? Some genius at the dealership evidently forgot to put them back on after my last oil change and it's currently hanging down between the front two wheels. Figured I could save the hassle of driving across town and spending an hour waiting at the dealership to have them put 4 bolts back in if I have them laying around my garage. Is this piece even needed?

Thanks for the help!

The upper engine cover or lower cover?Either way, they both take a 10mm socket and ratchet! It's a no brainer...very easy job to do. The bolts should be affixed to the cover so they don't get lost. Do not discard the cover. Put it back in place. Items like that show how well or not so well an owner took care of his car.

Maybe I didn't follow your question as well as I thought I did. Are you talking about the engine cover that bolts on top of the engine under the hood, or the lower engine cover that is located directly under the engine? If it is the actual bolts you are looking for....you need to get them from the dealer. At that point, if I were going back to the dealer for these items....I would definitely make them replace the bolts and get your next oil change service for free. Showing them you are very unimpressed with that kind of service you previously received can get you free service sometimes. At minimum make THEM replace the bolts and any damage to the cover!Don't let this slide because that is just pure carelessness on their part since they do oil changes on these kind of cars with the cover everyday.

Thanks J,

I'm headed to the dealership anyway to have them replace the bluetooth module soon and will have them put it back on. For reference, I was talking about the lower engine cover underneath the car.

Yeah, I was thinking that. You definitely need that cover. It is there for aerodynamic reasons.
