Umm, well get it to a dealer for sure.

Probably damaged the MAF.

Welcome to NICO!

+1...sounds like a damaged MAF sensor. As a general rule, you have to be ultra careful when cleaning or handling it.

If you have a warranty, it should be covered.

maybe you need to do a idle relearn?

I just picked up an 03 g35 coupe and the engine just shut off while driving happened to me too!! It also has an intake system... Any ideas? If the maf was damaged wouldn't you pop an engine light? And what's the process of an idle relearn?

When you installed the filter, did you install it too tight on the intake tube? If there isn't sufficient air flow, it could be robbing the engine of oxygen, it may barely be running, double check this when you check your MAF. I installed a foam filter, and experienced very rich, rough running symptoms... so I took it off.

You could also try re-installing the old filter just to be sure. Good luck with your dilema.
