Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On my way into work today I pulled into a turn lane and my engine cut off. At first I thought the fan belt fell off, but I could still steer and all the belts are on. It initially felt like that at least. Many engine lights came on like the "Check Engine" and HiCaS lights. The electrical system was working because the radio was still on.

I turned off the car, shut off the turbo timer, and then it started up again like nothing ever happened. It runs great now, but I'm concerned this may happen again on a road that's more congested. Any ideas what might have happened?

The car is a 94 TT that has 85,000 miles and has been running great as my DD since I bought it in March.

Yep, manual it is and that's exactly what it sounds like. Thanks for the help!
