it's fine for the motor.what engine mounts do you have...and does it rattle your teeth?

I don't see any reason why it would be BAD for the motor. I just put the Project Silvia one on myself and I like it a lot. I had to call them up and see which one I needed because they make one for the S13, S14 and S15 and since I have an S14 chassis and the S13 motor I wasn't sure which to use. One of the helpful phone reps told me to use the S13 and it installed perfectly.

no teeth rattling, just old ka mounts, but that was my concern.

Is it worth it if I got Nismo mounts already? The engine hardly moves as it is. I guess zero movement would be better though right?

ull notice it alot thru turns and at high RPMs...i had one but i broke it...installed it backwards (mine didnt come with instructions)...i plan on getting another one when i get my camber plates in (the stock upper strut mount bolts arent long enough to accomidate for a strut bar AND a torque dampner) but this one will come directly from the people who own the patent and who started making them in the first place...HPI of japan (good friend of mine works there heheheheheheh)

but yes u will notice a difference even with NISMO mounts....BTW how stiff are those things??? i wanted to get some myself

I have no idea about the Nissan one, but my buddy with a turbo Volvo 240 ripped a hole in his engine bay with one of those things. Just food for thought. I would probably try stiffer motor mounts first as "rudee023" pointed out.

I believe that his was also mounted to the strut tower but I am unsure of where though.

Well, since I am comparing them to my desimated KA transmission mount and wobbly motor mounts I'd say there is a world of difference. I upgraded when I did my swap and I think that it was a good use of $200. BTW the stock upper strut mount bolts aren't long enough to run both a strut bar and the damper?

Like I said I ordered my torque dampener from Project Silvia and with the item came some instructions. In the instructions was a picture that showed the dampener installed with a strut bar. So take that for what it's worth.

you CAN install the dampner with a strut bar...however the bolts will be REALLY short...you wont have alot of thread to mount the bolts to...if you have aftermarket camber plates with longer mounts then you will be fine...i could only ever get 2 outta the 3 bolts back on with the stock upper mounts...i dont recommned doing this as you will catch alot of **** for it at driving events from the people who inspect your car

the motor mounts will help transfer more power to yer driveline...the strut bar will help the car in cornering...its your choice...i personally cant stand driving a 240 without a strut tower bar but also the KA24 motor mounts always feel ALOT gushier and softer than the stock SRs...yer choice mate...i would go for the motor mounts as they will help out a bit with power...why didnt u use yer SR mounts when u swapped??? they are a bit stiffer than KA mounts

i didn't get any with my motor, just the brackets. the reason i want to get better mounts or strut tower brace it to avoid damaging the motor or strut tower. which do you think?

yer strut tower is fine...ive seen quite a few drift cars without front sturt bars (the turbo was in the way) and theyre fine...go with the engine mounts for now...youll notice a HUGE difference in the way the motor acts under higher rev drving...there is a company in japan making mounts that are pure polyurethane instead of half poly and half liquid (like the nismo mounts and nissan mounts) if i find who makes these i will post up the company and where to buy em...ive seen em on ebay ONCE so they are quite rare in the states...supposedly they are 50% stiffer than nismo mounts

ok, so the strut tower is fine. but what about the motor itsel?now the movement that was in the mounts is being absorbed in the damper which is attached to the top of the motor.

O and be warned. Those motor mounts are not for the weaK at heart. Your car will have a nice shaking at idle. They are HARD mounts.

it would take someone 5 minutes with a welder to fix that problem,if you don't know anyone you would pay at the most 20$ to weld the damper bracket to the STB's bracket.
