Im thinking a tq dampener will help me get better power transfer to the wheels and put less stress on the motor mounts.

I searched but couldnt find anyting, anyone have a torque dampener?

Which one will work in the S13 with a RB25 and Core motor mounts?

if you using aftermarket mounts, like top hat, or Mack, they are solid you dont need one.

mount kits are crap anyways, that stuff is gonna flex regardless.solid is r32 or r33 xmember, that isht goes nowhere.

slightly off topic, but still relevant I assume..

Carl,I was planning on using the stock S13 Xmember, but with hockey pucks for the solid mounts. Would you advise in this, or use the R33 Xmember + hockey pucks, or even further, just use the stock R33 Xmember and forego the hockey pucks? *note this is for a 25, not a 20 if it makes a difference, was not sure :-\ * I am also just considering making my own mounts since I have skilllz in welding \ fab, I just need to get the exact dimensions to use :-\ Anyways, thanks for the input.

honestly imho if you can use a stock xmember (skyline) then go for it, it is much more robust than ANY mount kit out there.if you can weld and fab then just make up new motor mount adaptor plates to utilize the skyline xmember...and with good mounts you'll find there is no need for torque dampeners.a little fab work and some plate steel and you should be able to make motor mount adaptors which drop the motor down some and move it back a touch, which is how i would do it.as for hocky pucks i know the rotary guys do it, im not sure how well it would work on the rb motor...seeing as it is a i6 and hella ballanced im sure it wouldnt be too bad.

Carl,

Thanks alot man! I wanted to make sure / get somone who has 'been around' for their opinion and you re-affirmed it for me. I'll stick with the R33 Xmember then and fab the adapter plates. As for the motor placement, how far back should I move it? IIRC the McKinney set advertises that it moves both back and down an inch.

Back to the pucks, I guess I would need to step back and re-evaluate it. I know that the main advantage is they are hella stiff, but how does that translate? Please correct me, but it would be making the connection between the motor and chassis stiff which would cause more or less vibration? Since the RB is pretty balanced, what would you suggest for a DD / street mounts? The factory RB parts?

Sorry for more questions :-\ BTW, I was not planning on purchasing a torque dampener like the SR20s have.
