The top ends the easiest part, just more parts! i wish i was still in San Diego so I could help out.. :/

what was the guy supposed to do? (btw, the vg30dett has similar technology to other cars, you might have more luck finding how to's on a DOHC engine than anyone willing to travel to help. just a thought, believe me, i was there, people jumped but their schedules sucked compared to mine..)

And always research, and have a factory service manual handy, and a good torque wrench for when you need soemthign torqued down to spec's.

Still needing help with this. engine is out.. needs short block rebuild :(

Bad mechanic man.. this guy threw turbos on an NA engine and left NA internals :(

the name of the shop is

DR. Z Tuning aka Z King Nation. they are located in west minster. This guy couldnt even figure out that the clutch was slipping because the adjustment behind the pedal wasnt right. he kept saying "its your transmission" . He has everyone fooled to think he is this great master mechanic. My car was a disaster when i got it back. fuel lines were replaced with radiator type hose and not secured. he used nuts as washers on long bolts. its rediculous :( what a waist of $7G

This is actually what I'm going to be doing in a few months. I'm boosting my 90 NA but only staying at 6psi on stock NA internals (minus exhaust valves). I have alot of the parts already. In total it should be less than a grand.

This DR. Z Tuning sounds like a freaking joke. No one has had him do a swap before? I would think they would spread the word that he sucks at it. I'm with TTKickedIn... I wish I could help but i'm on the other side of the country. But I know for a fact there are a bunch of people in SoCal with Z32's

Yea i hope people spread the word about him. I hope he doesnt get someone killed first though. I think what has happened so far is people are taking junk to him, he is fixing things here or there and then they are cool with it... or he is pulling the wool over peoples eyes... or maybe he didnt like that i was asking what i was paying for and screwed me on purpose.

when i asked how much for the tt conversion this is what he listed me... 1850 for motor, 2600 for conversion parts and some ammount for labor... so i asked... what is the 2600 for... what parts and he had a prpoblem telling me what... well i was stuck at that point because my car had no motor and was 2 hours away from where i live.

So lesson learned... hopefully no one else gets screwed or worse

Check out how nasty his shop looks on youtube. The nice black z you see is HIS personal car, none of the other ones he work on looks that clean of an install... and if u check his craigslist ads.. he shows nice 300zx's on there.. but if u google 300zxtt you will find the same pics from someone elses website lol.

Alright. So from I've read, you're pretty much doing all of it since dr z didn't really do anything?

Already looked into it. Filed a report with BBB, OSHA, and Beuru of Auto Repair. The lawsuit would be a waist of time though. because there is no garuntee he will pay. all he has to do is rename his business.

You can make sure he pays. Sue him and then get a collection agency that will take a percentage of his income every month. Thats what my dad did. A mechanic f'd up his truck's transmission then my dad sued him, kicked his a** in his own shop and still won the lawsuit.
