Hi,

Can anyone tell me if they are have an issue with their engine temperature? About 3-5 minutes into my drive, I noticed my engine temperaure gauge moving slowly but surely up to the "top" but then will settle back to the "middle."

Thanks

The needle moves creeps to the top and then drops to the middle/normal range.

Not an expert in the area, but I'd say you need a new thermostat, sounds like the one you have either sticks or responds slowly. That said, I'm pretty sure it shouldn't do that, even if my diagnosis (guess) is wrong.

on the 4.5Liter in the Q, there is a themostat up front that opens at 180. then one in the rear that opens at 200.
not sure if you have one or two in the 3.5.
Get the field service manual off this site. Weaqlth of info.
In the 245,000 miles i've NEVER seen my gauge go all the way.....just sayin....
I run a digital obdII scangauge. THe hottest I ever got was 240. And the gauge DID NOT go all the way.

Took to dealer and the issue was an air pocket in the cooling system. Had it flush and looks like it is fixed.
