engine temp gauge and fuel gauge

I sniffed through the DIY sections, and i found nothing, so here goes.

got a 83 datsun kingcab. Engine Temp gauge and fuel gauge both show zero all the time.

my best guess, would be the switch. were are those switch located?

can you change them yourself?

any current posts covering this topic already then please guide me in the right direction.

I remember fixing those. Those 2 gauges share a voltage limiter, and that limiter is inside one of the gauges.
IIRC, it is in the temp gauge but check that before you do anything.
It only shows as a symbol inside the gauge on the wiring diagram.
I don't have a SM here right now.

So I would have to take the panel apart to get that fixed... Dang... I hate seperating instrument panels

Its very easy, the risk lies in the old, brittle plastic you will encounter.
