Engine

i have a 91 s13 coupe and today i was driving home from work i and i came to a stop and my car regularly idles down then comes up back to regular idle..but this time it did that then the idle started jumping and then my engine died?? im trying to think what could of have caused that because it is the first time that the engine at a stop has died on me. i already did the tune up with spark plugs, wires, and distrubitor rotor and cap. im just trying to think what can cause that problem for my engine to die??

Any suggestions?? Answers??
