engine swaps, how did you remove your mounts from the frame?

there no 'good' way that i can see to get them out... share your frustration

i need to get mine off in the next few days, will probably end up going plasma cutter, might be able to save the old mounts to sell or something

Anyway, they should just come off. Use a breaker bar if you need more leverage.

on an s13... you cant fit a socket in there , and everything is angled in a way that a wrench cant really fit over it... my engine is almost ready to drop in, just waiting on a new turbo return coolant line... im going to spend an hour at the most on this hell project, before i break out the plasma cutter

over on the CA forum, ive heard numerous ways, most ended in something getting cut off

Just a normal wrech (open or closed) fits on it and there is room to get a short jack handle on the wrech. Although sometimes they do strip and you have to cut. But recommend a lot of PB Blaster, like soak it and leave it over night, try the next day.

Heh heh heh. When the pb blaster with a wrench and pipe fail, you're gonna have to cut it off.

had to cut off two so far, but most come off with a bit of care. you can also try using a rubber mallet to get some force on the wrench and tap it loose till it goes off freely.

I used a lubricant, long handle wrench and lots of bloody nuckles. Mine were quite rounded off though

spent 20 bucks at sears., get thouse strip bolt remover thing. worked wonderfully.
