well, you can built the stock L28, high compression, stroker whatever suits your fancy and budget, you can swap in the 81-83 280ZX Turbo engine (L28ET) it's a direct bolt in even bolts to your trans, although you'll want the clutch and flywheel from the turbo to hold the extra power
if you want to fab mounts then the options are limitless, you can swap in a VG, RB, domestiv V8, rotary, whatever you like, the chassis is pretty swap friendly, some engines fit better than others
