alright, to start off, i have an 89 5spd hatch. the car had a bad engine when i bought (main bearing) so i swapped in another engine (KA24E). the car sat over winter while i did this and when i finished it, it wouldnt start. battery was shot. bought a new one and threw it in and it started right up. yay. my exhaust was broken in half and my inspection was 6 months past due so i couldnt drive it. so i just left it in the garage until i had time to fix the exhaust so i could get it inspected. two days later i fixed it and went to start it up, and it's not starting. i look into it and i'm not getting spark, not even at the ignition coil. so i got a new and still got nothing. thought that it might be the crank angle sensor so i put it another distributor set-up and still get nothing. everything is connected properly and all the fuses are good. the only thing not connected is the one sensor in the transmission closest to the bellhousing. i dont know what it is, but one of the wires came out of the clip and i havent had time to fix it yet. i dont know if that would be the problem or not, but it needs to be fixed anyways. so basically, i'm wondering if anyone has any ideas?? could it be that the battery just isnt charged enough? it cranks over and all, it just doesnt get any spark. any help would be great, and the sooner the better.
