I found an engine on tigerjapanese for my NX. It's just the ga16 but it's from a 96 maxima. Will this still bolt and wire up and everything?

Or would an sr 20 from 96 work too??

IMO! I would go for the SR20DET or the SR20VVL. As long as Its FWD. But you might want to ask tigerjapanese or JGYCustoms. Just give them a E-mail or a call.

i dont see the point on why you would get another GA16.
yes the SR20 would bolt in but you would need a couple other things as well(SR20 radiator and hoses, transmission, axles, ECU, ECU harness, motor mounts, starter. i might be missing some stuff)
and if you do go SR20, get the SR20VE. it has 187WHP stock compared to the 140somethin of the DE.
the VE is also more rev-happy, you can rev it easily up to 8200RPM without the rev limiter.
and last but not least(at all) the VE has NEO-VVL(Nissan Ecologicaly Oriented Variable Valve Lift) which is just nissans version of hondas V-TEC.
ive seen people rev all the way up to 10,000RPM with just porting and new valvetrain and a GOOD tune.

-Crossmember
-All SR20 Motor mounts
-Front motor mount bracket
-Rear motor mount bracket
-Transaxle mount
-SE-R clutch cable (not needed if still using auto)
-SE-R throttle cable
-SE-R clutch cable bracket (bolts to transaxle)
-SR20DE(T) ECU or G20 ECU (make sure if you're using OBDII or OBDI or use the right ECU)
-SR20 clutch kit (throw out bearing, clutch disc, pressure plate)
-SE-R wiring harness
