can i swap my 2002 altima 2.5s engine with a altima 3.5 engine? if so what year and model should i do it? thanks!

The answer is Yes, you can swap engines.

The question you should ask is "If I swap a 4 cylinder for a 6 cylinder, how much is it going to cost?"

By the brief question you ask, I can tell that you don't have a clue as to what has to be changed / modified / removed / replaced / purchased to make this swap work properly.

Quite honestly, neither do I.

I do know that this would be very, very expensive, even if you had a 'monster garage', and could do most of the modifications and fabrication yourself.

It would cost you about 10 to 12 grand, and thats just a guess.

Id say get all forged internals and boost the heck outta it. 27 lbs of boost and put out 800 hp to the wheels. Ok well not that much.

the problem is i blew my engine and i figure the altima 2.5 and 3.5 are mostly the same so wouldnt it fit nicely right? but another thing is i heard there was a 2.5 engine that was a v6 if im wrong let me know but wouldnt it fit perfectly?

well my low oil light was busted and i had a really bad oil leak from god knows what.. and im constantly moving during the week day so i never noticed anything under the car it eventually went dry and started smoking then stoped..

Hey all, I plan on doing a similar project with my 2.5 4AT. I have a buddy who has offered me his engine and transmission and any other pieces I would need to make this swap possible as his 3.5 was wrecked and he's parting it out completely.

My question is, aside from the engine, transmission, ecu, and harnesses, what else is required and given I have all of the necessary pieces, what kind of labour costs would I be looking at?
