you sure its a 2.0L? I thought the Z24 was a 2.4L. My 82 is a Z22 2.2L

Easiest swap I have read about is the KA swap. You may find a motor in California, but her in Ga they are non-existent.

Try and get the ecm and wire harness out of the car you get the motor from. Plenty of threads out there about what is needed wth swap.

Also, the KA needs to be a truck KA. Ive read conflicting things about 240sx motors not working bc of the oil pump but Ive also read about small mods to fix that issue. I just keep looking for a KA out of a Frontier, just no luck.

I have not done this swap, just relaying info I found by scowering sites. Google is your friend.

The reason you want one out of a truck is that we need a rear sump oil pan. 240sx is a front sump.

You can get the longblock and wiring from the truck and any ka24e ecu will run the motor. they have slightly different fuel maps from model to model but it will run fine. Either want to do the stock truck intake or aftermarket 240sx one for SOHC, pretty sure either fits.

Pretty sure you also can just swap your mounts over, the blocks are insanely similair.

Oil pump should be the same as z24 and ka and l28, the fornt covers will differ, but the pump is the same as far as I know.

The important part from going from carb to EFI, is getting the gas tank from an efi truck that has the baffling.

I thought the only mod from a truck KA was the motor mounts. Shrug. Hopefully I'm wrong bc that would make the swap considerably easier.

The 240sx has a front oil sump that wont clear the crossmember in your 720. The KA block out of a pickup is the same setup as your 720, it has a rear oil sump. Sump is where the pan dips down like an L. Thats my observation anyway.

If you find a truck with a 4cylinder KA, you will need the ECM and all the wiring, if available, when you pull the motor. If you dont have the wiring, you either make your own wire harness, or find another one from another truck. The ecm is the brain of the car, without it you wont get the motor to run properly if at all.

98 frontier and newer use a KA motor, its a 4cylinder.

Im sure the swap is reliable if it is so common. Im going frankenmotor route instead of the KA swap,I cant find a KA truck motor within 200 miles of me. The swap isnt important enough for me to make a trip longer than that. lmao.

As I stated earlier, I have not done this swap, this is just information I have personally read numerous times. I hope I am not giving you the wrong info, I dont believe I am.
