Well i have the 2.5. I was thinking in January buying a AC 3.5 and try for a 6spd transmission. But I was trying to think of how much it would cost to just have a VQ35 put in instead of dishing out more money for almost the same car you know. Anyway I would want a brand new Engine and not used.... Any idea how much the engine alone would cost. Im assuming the swap alone would cost around 2k + engine price. Any insight would help, thanks

so are you willing to accept just the engine, because you said you were looking at the altima Coupe in january, but you have a sedan, so i assume all you want is the engine then?

I'm having difficulty understanding why you didn't buy the 3.5 initially...

couldn't find the 2007 VQ, but I found the 2006 NIssan 350Z VQ35De Rev up which is what we have in our cars, and the brand new cost was 6700 for auto trans, 5700 for manual...

I don't know if that includes the transmission or not... in any case, after buying all of the mounts and everything, getting it installed.. my guess is you're looking at ~ 10K

This is really a dumb idea! You'd come out much cheaper just trading yur car in and getting a 3.5.... even if ou lose 2K on the deal, the cost of a base 3.5 is only ~4500 more than a manual, even less now that the 2009's are coming out

Absolutely ridiculous to want to swap out an engine for one that's readily available to you in the next model up. You would have to change out so many things on the front end of that car, its would be insane. The engine, Transmission, computers, frame components, transmission related components, many suspension parts you have to be changed for strong pieces. The list goes on an on. Go model upgrade

those who swap engines to a brand new car is retarded (sorry but true)

when you bought the car why didnt you just dish out that extra 3 grand for the better model, with turn signal mirrors, bigger rims etc.

and the swapped engine would probably not be as perfect as a factory 3.5

and youll end up paying alot more...

asking how much it would be is not the real question...the real question is WHY would you bother doin this?!?!

Eh i did have a bitchy response, but I only have 1 engine swap on my hands with my Tech friend doing most the work which was on an older 95 240 with a redtop. I didnt know it would be that much of a bump for a newer car but it all makes sense. I am moving down to Galveston TX if I get this job and if everything goes through then I will just try for a new AC or a slightly Used 08 G35 that I've been flirting with. Thanks for the Research, Doc I feel like I should pay you for researching that up I wasnt expecting or wanting some1 to go that far..... Thanks every1 else.

I should have stated bad idea instead of dumb idea... due to how new the cars are, this would be a very expensive projet, even if your buddy did the entire install for free, I think the cost would still approach 10K

And yeah, if you really mean 2008 g35, it has to be the Sedan... the 2007 and 2008 g35 sedans are BEAUTIFUL! Hands down much nicer (and faster) than the G35 coupe!

G35S..... Look like their quicker off the line when I watched these Videos? But of course the driver may have a play in it as well. Plus I love the sound of them with an exhaust.
