A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I have a 2005 sentra se-r spec v. I've been thinking of which would be cheaper between just adding mods to my engine or a swap...i would appreciate some opinions?.....Also if the swap would be cheaper what would be my best engine choice for to swap with for maximum performance?..

I'm not a Sentra expert, but I think a mild boost kit would be the best bang for the buck.

Member name "nametakennow" has done one, and his turned out great.

Welcome aboard!

OneFastStanza has a Spec V that is turbo charged. The kit is bolt on and produces moderate power on low boost.

Even on the arguably weak QR, a low-to-moderate boost kit would be better than a swap both in cost and results.

It also responds very well to NA mods (I/H/E/cams/pulleys/balance shaft removal).

unfortunately there is no such thing as a cheap swap (unless you think 4-5k is cheap) your current options are an SR20det swap or a VQ35DE swap. the last one is less common though.

Could you tell me whether or not you know of the kit to do such a swap? Or maybe a site/company that sells the complete engine? I guess just any recommendation should suffice to set me ahead in progress, really.

Which swap?

For your G20, try http://soko.com for SR20DETs or VEs that you could drop right into your current chassis. For the VQ you *might* be able to use the same kit that Sentra owners use, a member by the name Trav4011 makes those.

there are a few options you have....SR20(played out), VQ35(overrated), VQ30 or just rebuild your motor to hold good boost....if you go to myspecv.com there are a few people on there with swaps.
