Sr20ve, bolt in 187-204 hp depending on which version you get. Go google it, it is a pretty fantastic engine, and it is pretty much a bolt in for your g20.

But back to your original question, there is no easy way to get a rwd sr into a fwd platform, the blocks have different castings and will require custom brackets to get the engine to sit in the car. Another option would be to perform a head swap, I'm not sure what would be involved, but it will probably be similar to what has to be done to get the ve(fwd only configuration) head onto the det(rwd) block.

Good luck and post pics of your progress.

Might I suggest a CA18DET from a 200SX. Sweet motors too.

Why not just use a FWD sr20det?

You're going to have to weld in a trans an driveshaft tunnel down the middle of the car and do a whole bunch of rear suspension custom fab work. You know, right?
It sounds like you don't, so just FYI, you can't just "plug in" a rear drive motor into a front drive car.

You're going to need a welding machine ($600 for a good one), learn how to weld (probably 2 months to get good enough), someone to learn off of, get a custom driveshaft made ($1000? easy...), an entire rear subframe from a RWD car with similar wheel spacing and a compatible suspension setup, a lift to measure the subframe compared to the car so you can mount it right, weld in supports for the subframe, attach it to the car, get an engine crane, measure the engine mounts to the engine bay, make custom engine mounts, blah blah blah.

Prove me wrong all you want, but it's probably not going to happen.

The G20 comes 4WD in some markets under the Primera name so if he can source the rear diff and brackets it should bolt in.

Now, those cars still mount the motor transversely so if he want to mount the motor longitudinally all that other stuff still applies and I have to agree with the chances of that happening.

Hmm... that's neat, I never knew that.

Wheel spin is going to happen no matter if the car is FWD or RWD. Technically, there is actually more weight over the drive wheels in a FWD car, so you should experience less wheel spin. If, however, you're talking about torque steer or something to that effect, it's reality of driving a FWD car. I say just learn to live with it. My DD is an eclipse, and I've just got to the point that I expect the torque steer and I know to compensate. I'm to the point that I don't even notice it.

If you want RWD, just find a cheap 240sx.
