Is it heard of to swap out the inline 6 for a vg30dett on a 240z or maybe 280zx?

I know I can purchase a LS1 or small block chevy kit for a 240z, but to keep it all nissan go with the z32 motor.

i have a chevy 350 in my 280z. i would only recommend the vg30dett in the first gen z if one) you are rich, and two) you want to be reallly different. it would cost a crapload of money.. when it comes to the first gen z, i would recommend a chevy v8.. very affordable. secondly i would recommend doing a turbo conversion on an l28 i6. thirdly, vg30et.. i like the idea of keeping it nissan, and someday want to do an rb30 into a 260z.. if money is a factor.. go v8.. good luck and keep us posted

boostedz31, Could you correct your sig. Its not a 710 truck but a 720 truck. *10's were cars and *20/*21's were trucks.

V8 is cheap and fun, diffrent sound, There is alot you can do to the 2.8liter turbo motor in a 280zx, and they are bullet proof also. The crank and stock pistons can handle some boost. The ignition and fuel however cannot.

A good freind and neighbor of mine races a 240z and a gen 1 rx-7 in SCCA E-production class.

He has MUCHO spare parts for 240's-280's. Including short blocks.

E-mail me if you are looking for something specific. Even some interior parts.
