Hello everyone, my wife just bought a 1990 300Z N/A 5spd off her uncle. I have found that the engine in this car is out of a 97 Infiniti J30 and has about 70K miles on it. I am trying to do the 60K service on this engine and am being told by numerious Nissan Dealers that the parts for the Z's version of the VG30DE and the J30's is different. I wanted to change all drive belts including Timing belt, water pump, tensionors and seals, does anyone have any experience with these engines enough to know if I can use Z parts, or do I have to buy Infiniti parts? Your Help would be MUCH appreciated......

All of the accessory belts will be for the n/a z. The timing set (belt and idlers will be the same also. All seals and tensioner are the same. You should have no problem using nissan or infiniti parts. my email is [email protected] if you have any problems.

Welcome to NICO!i agree at the Nissan parts should swap over, you might want to take a look at the oil dipstick locationa dn the oilpan and pickup tube, they might be different but for all the other components I say go for it, the dealers tend to be very narrow minded and the ones you're speaking with might have never worked on a Z32, and if they have they likely havn't worked on a J30
