Hi,

I have a 2004 Nissan 350Z w/ VQ35 motor. I bought a brand new, also VQ35 motor with a wiring harness. What we weren't told is that the new motor is a REV UP motor so now the ECU is not compatible with the REV UP motor. Not even Nissan can tell me which ECU I need. The serial number on the motor I bought is VQ35901209. I did some investigation and it seems the Rev Up motor might be a 2006 motor and that I need an ECU MEC60 for a manual transmission. When I phoned Nissan they said that that is not the part number and they cannot help me with a price on it. I would like to try and find a second hand one if at all possible as I take it that the Nissan one will be very expensive. Please help.

There should be a Nissan part number tag on the harness, find it and enter the number into the search bar at NissanPartsDeal.com without entering any other information. At the bottom of the part page, it will tell you exactly what models and years that harness fit. That will at least greatly narrow your possibilities.

The MEC numbers are Hitachi and not Nissan, but good luck trying to get any info from them. Chances are they won't even talk to you unless you promise to buy a million of something.
