You could put a turbo on a 2.5 and still make power. People turbo 4cyl engines all the time. The only concern is transmission, because the CVT sucks. And answering your question, yes it's do-able. I even considered it once but went a different route. After all my research I just came to the realization that it's better to find a totaled 3.5 and get the parts from it as a donor car. If you buy all the parts NEW or from dealership, it'll cost you an arm and a leg.

I would rather not swap & keep my 2.5 because it's lighter. But you are right cvt suck. Do you know who makes turbo kits for my car?

Swap the Trans for a 6spd from a 3.5 then you'll be good

But manual 3.5s are so hard to come by is there any other 6MTs out there that would fit our 2.5 and take about 5lbs of boost?

Wait what do you mean parts from a 3.5? You dont have a 3.5? Then what did you take off of the 3.5 that would help a 2.5???
