I've been having a strange problem recently, and I have no clue what it is. When I turn the ignition off, the car attempts to run for a few seconds, stumbles a little, and the engine rumbles and finally shuts off, rattling the whole car....I honestly have no clue what the problem could be, and don't even know where to start with this one.

It wouldn't bother me too much, but the engine acts REALLY harsh after I shut it off while stumbling to a stop. Also, when I try to start the car back up, it acts as if the engine is flooded, and it has trouble starting for a few seconds....

Any ideas?

I'm using an SAFC for fuel control FWIW, but I haven't made any changes to the settings recently.

The only recent mod I've done is my electric fan setup..Could this problem somehow be related to the electric fan in a weird way? that just sounds crazy...

My opinion is that the engine is still getting fuel somehow after shutoff, but I don't know what could cause that.

The car runs perfect otherwise though?

Do you have a WBO2?

Not many things that can cause the car to get fuel after you turn the key off, id look to the fuel rail first for answers.

Yea the engine runs great otherwise. I was thinking about this though...I know this might sound far-fetched, but what if my plugs were fouled bad enough that there was still fuel in the combustion chamber after the engine is shutoff and it attempts to run for a few more seconds..I dunno if this theory makes sense, but I'm gonna replace the plugs tonight..

Let me ask you a question, how do you have your electric fans setup and is there a relay to them?

If there is no relay their just hooked up to power up as you turn the key over, that is the reason why your car does what it does when you shut it off.

^^^ That is exactly what your problem is. I had my fans wired to where my water squirter used to be, and every time i had my windshield wipers on when i cut my car off my wipers would still go till my fans stop spinning. They produce power as the spin, thats why your car will stay running after you cut it off.
