hey all. rebuilt my motor to original specs and everything went just fine. only problems im having is when the rpms are coming back down it stumbles almost to the point of stalling. haven't been able to check whether it happens during acceleration. so far it only happens when the rpms are dropping back to idle then it lines itself out and purrs like a kitten at idle.

I took off the egr stuff and most of the vacuum lines. now the only things I have running on vacuum is the fuel pressure regulator and the air swirl control valve. my question is very simple, but probably the most difficult one as well. what did I take off that could be causing the stumbling problems?

some other things I did was take off the ac (didn't work anyway) and I took off the coolant lines that ran to the throttle body.

my plan was to get it retuned but where I live posses a problem for that. All help is appreciated.

Same problem....changed plugs/plug wires/ distributor cap and rotor/fuel filter...no luck yet....electronic engine code reads bad or loose wire, anti-knock sensor?

I've got an obd1. But I haven't tried looking up the codes... I have a feeling that there will be a lot of them. ac plugs aren't hooked up and IAT sensor is broke and there is one plug at the end of the injector/throttle body harness that isn't hooked up because I think it went to the EGR valve and there isn't a place to hook it up.

bump. Has anyone ran into this? Any general diagnosis will help. I would like to get this thing lined out asap. I have other stuff I need to get working on.

I just dumped a can of octane booster into the mix...smoothed things out considerably!

Well I have the same problem. Putting mine in the shop tomorrow to get a diagnosis and see what all it needs. I just bought it to practice cosmetic work but that engine needs some serious loving and I don't have time being in college and what not. Remind me to tell ya'll what the verdict is.
