My 2002 Maxima 3.5L's engine stumbles when sitting at a stoplight after it has been running a while. The car has 145k miles on it. I have recently replaced two of the ignition coils on it that went bad. The only code I am getting is a pending P1800 which is the VIAS solenoid valve.

My question is does the P1800 cause this sympton I am experiencing or is it most likely another engine coil that is on it's way out and has not thrown a code yet?

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't think a VIAS issue would cause idle issues. I'm not all that familiar with the problem, though. Here's a link to more info on the VIAS issue and possible causes: post6311501.html#p6311501

Does it stumble at all under load? Or just at idle? If it's only at idle, I'd say it's probably not an ignition coil. Usually coils will cause a slightly rough idle, but then cause more noticeable issues and loss of power under load and heavier throttle.

It is only at idle, so I am thinking ignition coil especially with the age of the car. There are no misfire codes though.

What problems does the VIAS cause?
