IHey guys, I was wondering if you couldn't help me with a question

Is $6000-7000 enough to do an engine swap and do a little mods like FMIC exhaust etc. I just don't know where to look for stuff for the 300zx. Sorry this is a stupid newb question. Also, will a tt engine go into a non-turbo car. Flame if you wish, just help me out please. Thanks, Scott

Well If your goal is having a fast turbo car, then get a TT Z. Dont bother with the headaches of doing a swap.

I don't have anything already, The reason I brought up the swap is becasue usually all the 300zx's have tons and tons of miles on them

and if it's a same motor swap, it's not a hassle at all.

I've read time and time again that the Z32 TT swap is NOT as easy as everyone thinks it is. Its cheaper and easier just to get a TT Z32 to begin with.

How do the engines hold up? How much power am I going to lose at 120,000 miles?

What if I could get a 91 300 with AT for 700? The body is perfect. Would it be worth doing the swap and AT/manual covn. then?

You'll probably end up paying about the the same money as just buying the 5 speed N/A. From what I read there's a lot of other things to consider when putting a TT engine into an N/A Z.

Well, I've made up my mind. **** the 240. I'm so pissed by it's new surge of popularity with all this "drifting ****". When I bought my car no one new what a 240 was. When I did my Sr swap everyone was like WTF. Now I get 5-6 calls a week about my car. I've always liked the Z's that's how I found out about the 240 was because I was looking at buying a Z. Where can I look for some good basic Mod info and parts shops? The Sr's have phase 2 and heavy throttle and enjuku. any such shops for the z. Thanks guys.

So lets talk engine building. I'm in the military, and I will have about 2 weeks leave this summer. IS that enough to do a swap if I so choose? Is there really any advantage to getting a JDM engine? As I said in my last post, where should I look for parts, how much hp is the stock engine good for with upgraded intake, exhaust and cooling? I'm looking to start out with a reliable 300+ hp. Whacha guys got for me?

2 weeks is hardly enough time to do the swap if you have never worked w/ a VG30DETT before. There is a wealth of info over on http://www.twinturbo.net, much more than I could even begin to cover here. Learn to use the search function over there and read all the tech & FAQ articles, and you can become a Z genious.
