New, just got my dream car, need info and lost.
I was wondering, has anyone did a 2004 M45 to a 2000 Q45 engine swap?
How and will there be a computer management problem?
I am going for the Cima president look and need help on small things. Like curtains. Lol
I do not want to race or show, just want my dream to come true. I do not want to take a second mortgage out for this also. Any websites to help is help to me.
Thanks Q's for the input..........

You cannot make a Cima into a president... Well I suppose you could but with LOTS of hacking and butchery. The Cima is the Y33 Q. The President can be cloned fairly easily on the G50 Q or the F50 Q

+ You are in Cali. Many grilles and badges are already on home turf. There are I think 5 or 6 grilles to choose from. Badges are not uncommon as well.

I know some people that did the curtains, grills and other parts, they will fit just fine on the 2nd Gen Q. However, the engine swap you're suggesting is just short of crazy. For the price it will take to get a newer motor and install it you could have sold the car you just bought and buy 2002-06 Q45.

If you're looking for a speed machine you picked the wrong car. I have a 97' and it is not slow, but it ain't fast. For that matter the older 1st Gen Q's are about as fast as a modern V6 Camry, Altima or Accord.

Dressing her up is good, knock yourself out. but engine swap is sorta of crazy. I would just concentrate on tune-up, suspension refresh and fluid change out.

Have seen some really cool cars for sale on the yahoo auctions. See a few VQ30DETT AWD cimas there from time to time.

Thanks for the info. But I am looking for someone in sandiego that can help me out or even la territories. I looked up VIP styles. Um seem to me it is a click. But I might try them. I just want to do something different and yet classy.

Sorry but EVERYTHING has been done to the FGY33. I think it may be impossible to try something new with that car. Unless you do something insane and spend tons of money.

for VIP in SD there are no many people, if you want to get the car in top shape Jerry TUcker has been recommended by many people. the AWD Cima's suggested were never sold in the USA, there were only Q45's and they only came in RWD formats.

A former NICO member did VIP treatment to his 98', PM me and I will connect you with him...he's married to a Japanese lady so she got him stuff and he parents helped to ship it.
