Hey guys, I have just rebuild my ca18det but have run out of time before snow hit the ground so it hasnt been started. I didnt start it because I did not have the time to break it in before snow fell. I have it towed to the garage I am storing it at for the winter. So is there anything special I have to do to winterize it? I have not filled it with oil or anti-freeze yet. I was also wondering was would be a good break in oil? Do I need to seal off the intake? I just dont want my newly honed cylinders to rust this winter.

The lubricants you put on the metal surfaces should be sufficient. You can cover the throttle body and all entrances into the motor. Also cover the turbo as well. If you did everything right before assembly, you shouldn't have a thing to worry about.

Yea, as long as the cylinder walls, bearing surfaces, and cams all have a coating of oil, you should be fine.

ok I oiled everything when I build it. I just wanted to make sure. also would it hurt to store it without oil in it? I read on here about running 0 weight oil but there is no shop around here that carry it. what do you guys personally use in your ca?
