Just picked up a 92 240sx with the KA24DE in it a few weeks ago and am slowly fixing its random problems. I have read up as much as I could find and still have engine problems. I have cleaned the IACV and the spark plugs and wires look good. I have also set the idle which helped a little, and there doesnt seem to be any vacuum leaks. So today I bought a compression tester and sure enough all of the cylinders were between 120 and 125. According to the gauge it was barely in the green, but from the posts I have seen here it should be around 150 right? What is the spec? This is my project car, so should I rebuild the engine before anything else or wait and have a little fun with it first?

I think it's 155-175? something right around there.

yeah that's kinda low. mine were all 165 except #2, but I tested it like 3 times and it rose everytime... to 160. sometimes it's hard to get the compression tester's hose down in there good =p
