I have 59300 miles on my automatic 08 versa.
When the car is parked with engine off for few hours and than when I am trying to turn on the engine it hesitates.
It never failed turn on the engine but it hesitates.
However, when I turn the engine off and turn it on right away the problem is gone. It starts very strongly.

I have new battery 3months ago and I checked the battery and the battery is in perfect condition.
What can be wrong?

Also, I bought the extended warranty do you think it is still under the warranty??

Common problem with the fuel pressure regulator that lets the pressure bleed down when the engine is shut off. Until you get it replaced the easiest thing to do is to turn on the ignition as soon as you get in the car and then buckle up your seat belt and then start the car. This allows the fuel pump a few extra seconds to build the pressure up so the engine catches when the starter is engaged. The fix is to replace the fuel pressure regulator which is part of the fuel pump inside the gas tank. If the car is less than 36 months and has less than 36K miles it is covered by warranty.

Not necessary a fuel pressure regulator problem as I have that same problem 3 times. I have the same problem as you do when you have crank 2-3 times before the engine starts, what I did to fix it is pouring in a can of sea foam on my next refuel and drive it then several days later you'll notice the problem is gone. I guess its the gunk that build up within the fuel system causing the hesitation. Give that a try before you go to the dealership and burn a hole in your wallet

You can buy an in expensive can of sea foam at your local advance auto part.

Well, i went to dealer and it was covered by my extended warranty. I just payed 100 deductible. It was fuel regulator pressure problem.

Thanks.

Thank you for the update. Hopefully you are all set, however, I am not convinced Nissan has really solved the problem since it has been a problem for other models for many years and should have been PERMANENTALY solved many years ago. The Sentra was plagued with this and there is no excuse for this to occur on the Versa.
