Engine starting slow....

Sometimes when my fuel tank is really low, it takes a few extra cranks of the engine to fire up (2-4 seconds).... Recently its been doing that on full tanks as well which worries me a little. Just curious if anyone has experienced this, or has any ideas what it could be? I have a pretty new fuel filter in there, so its probably not that.

any thoughts would be appreciated.

Are we talking "slow cranks" (possibly battery/charging system related) or "extra number of cranks" (possibly air/fuel/spark/who know's what)???
