Engine Starting Problem/ Wires...Please Help

First the Hood Release latch broke. The part that holds it to the dash. Every time i would then try to start my car I would have to push that latch in toward the the engine. Now its completely broken. I think when I was pushing the hood release latch in over and over a wire would have gotten cut. Has anyone had this problem? Also is there any wire in particular that would cause the car not to even start?
