Hey guys, Alrite I got this motor from Rick'ys auto in Florida and i got the motor running for the first time but first it was the ticking noise coming from valve cover. I went inside and tried switching the gears while the engine was running and it just wouldnt go anywhere? What the Fuk is wrong, im so piss because one problem after another and this was a front clip that suppose to start 100%. If this help, when i swapped the clutch, there's was a stage two clutch with loose and missing sprungs and it was pretth bad beat up. Is it that the transmission went out or can it be the drive shaft if it was put in wrong? Please help......

What do you mean you can't switch gears? Do they grind? Does the clutch pedal move? Are your arms to skinny to move the shifter?

The first place I was look at is the clutch, but I have no idea what your problem is without any other detail.

What happens if you try to start the car with it in gear? Did you open the hydraulics up when you did the swap? More than likely this is a hydraulics problem.

As far as the warranty goes, you got exactly what the company said you would. A motor that would start and run. Clutches are wear items.

As far as the ticking, please make sure that the oil pan is not dented in the least little way. If it is, you will oil starve the head and burn the motor up.

is there enough pressure in the pedal? or is the pedal really low? When my clutch master cylinder was really low on fluid i could barely get my car into gear. I filled it up, pumped it a couple of times. good as new

Well i have a Exedy Stage 1 Street Performance clutch in and the clutch is not down to the floor or even half way. Its nice and steady, a little stiffer then stock and also my clutch cylinder is full with clutch fluid... TOday i checked my clutch slave cylinder under the car and seems wet. Can that be the problem if its leaking down there? I have a feeling that my slave cylinder is not pushing the fork far enough to allow me to shift into gears. ????? any idea's ...

clean up and dry around the slave cylinder real good and then pump the pedal a lot. then recheck, if its full of fluid then your slave cylinder leaking is probably the problem

but dont take my word for it i'm pretty new to hydraulic clutches.

The biggest problem people have with the hydraulic system on the 240 is that the damper box traps air. It is extremely difficult to bleed. The easiest solution is to just take it out.

With a heavier pressure plate, the hydraulics will wear out a little quicker. If that slave cylinder is leaking now, go ahead and do yourself a favor and just replace it. Personally, I would replace the master while I was at it, and take out the damper box.

one other thing that people don't understand is that hydrolics tend to go bad during the cold months. The seals that keep the fluid back contract and allow leakage.

More than likely, the main seal of the slave is shot. Slaves are cheap though.

follow the line down under the car. There will be a little bracket secured to the frame rail with a fitting on it. on the backside of the bracket, the hardline will run to a little box, also secured to the frame rail. then it will loop back to the prior bracket and go to the slave cylinder. most people bypass the damper by bending the hardline and connecting it directly to the line going to the slave cylinder.

search, there is more info on it.

Here is a fantastic writeup with pictures on how to take out the dampener box. http://www.zeroyon.com/pics/in....html
