How educated is this guess? What am I going to be bolting from the stand to engine? the trans? Ive never put this type of engine on a stand and I dont want to **** it up.

Come on nico Gurus I know at least one of the mods can either tell me what im bolting into and or the bolt size's are.So what do you say guys?

like he said, whatever size bolts you use to bolt the trans to the engine. im not sure what engines you have worked on before, but Nissan engines bolt to the stand using the 4 bolt holes for the transmission....

You bolt into the bolt holes you normally bolt your trans to. Just like every other motor you put on a stand

So you get some bolts that are the same pitch and thread as your tranny bolts but fit your stand better, or you use some spacers and make it work.

Worked mostly on gas generator motors and old school V8's which I have never put on a stand, before I had an engine hoist which is alot simpler to hold the motor but I want to build the SR and on a stand I can take my time pulling it apart and yadda yadda.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I ended up purchasing m12 bolts for the larger bolt holes located on the block.

12mm 1.75 thread pitch 120mm length (120mm depends on the length of the engine stand bolt holes) Is what i used, I Had to make 2 trips to true value already lol!

I managed to use the same bolts that bolt the trans to the engine. Always worked for me. Ive done a RB, SR, and KA this way.

Bringing this back from the dead to answer the question - you will need

(4) M12 x 1.75 80mm - but keep in mind the length all depends on your engine stand as some have longer holes to go through.

I also use a washer on engine side as well as engine stand side.

I have mine attached @ all 4 corners

This is confirmed on Red & Black tops - not sure on S15 SRs

Now in the last pic - this would be the "best" motor building stand as the stand will not get in the way of you micing out your main journals etc. As long a you got a spare motor mount bracket and somone to weld it for you your good.

Yes, this is an old thread, but relevant.

Need to rebuild my motor this weekend. Did a Google search and this came up for engine stand bolts. Props to the last poster. Very helpful!
