Engine stalls at start, please help!

Hi, I just bought a 1998 Nissan Maxima, had an oil change and now (ever since the second stat after the oil change) every time I start the engine, it doesn't seem to go to idle, but just stalls. I can get the engine going if i press gas as i start it, and then it seems to stay in idle no problem. It has never stalled at stops and it also seems to start just fine if the engine is warm. Any help would be appreciated.

Snoop around to see if any lines/hoses/wires may have come loose. After that, I would check the intake stream. Sounds like you may need to clean the MAF sensor.

Do a search in this forum and you'll find this topic covered over and over again. Try the suggestions listed on the previous threads and then come back and let us know what worked. If nothing works, then let us know and we'll find something else for you to check

the other guys is right that there are alot of info here but you just have to find it .. I think if one of the MODS here so kind enough to put more time sorting it by each categories would fall in to..

It almost the same prob as my car, could be MAF .check my id.balasang i got few topics and replies on this forum about MAF.. check your ECM car comp it might give you codes..still having prob wit my car..

i have beenhaving the same problem lately......i have had my car now for 3 years and this is the first time im havingthis problem ( i had similar problems that resulted in a bad starter)

The colder months i did not have this problem, only recently and only in the cold weather.

I havent found the cause yet after some research and asking around, i thought perhaps they did a shady job on my starter, but i dont know

You should all move to Cali. I just sold my 96 I30 yesterday. 277k miles. Original engine, transmission, starter...etc. Only changed the radiator, one axle and struts.
