I am the second owner of this 2005 g35 sedan with almost 92k. The car was serviced regularly at local Infiniti dealership. Driving to work this morning the car's engine cut off and came back on seeing how I was on the freeway going 70mph. Service engine, vdc, slip lights remaned on afterwards and it did this yesterday also, but none of the lights came on. :frown:

Found out it's the cramshaft positioning sensor. Anyone have a pic of where it's located, front/back?

HI Infinit35
This started happening to my car a few weeks ago.. Just getting some time to figure it out.
Did your car ever stall when driving slow? and did it take a while to restart?

How did you figure out it was a cam shaft sensor?

It only happened on the highway, both times. I took the car to advance auto parts and had the code pulled. My brother inlaw asked around, was told that sometimes the sensors aren't necessarily the problem. It could be anything from the wrong engine weight to loose connections, but every since I replaced the cam sensors and had the code deleted (at local advance auto parts), the problem hasn't reaccured. I'm just now getting poor mph. 160miles on half a tank!??? Hope this helps?

How hard was it to replace the sensors? you do it yourself? if not what was the cost

Did it myself and the driver side was the toughest one. Had to remove throttle body, but either way your still gonna have to contort your hands to reach the bolts and sensors. FYI, the plug is a pain in the a**. U don't just unplug it, u have to push part of the plug towards the sensor and then it'll pop off. A bit diffacult to explain, but if your mechanically inclined then you'll see what I'm talking about. Good luck.
