I have experienced about three stalls so far on a cold start as soon as I shift into Drive.

It can get really cold where I live but these were on days when the weather was not so cold. Late Autumn/Early Spring kind of days.

All three of them were somewhere between 12000 to 18000 miles.

Since then I have slowed the transition from Park to Drive but I am surprised that the stall protector does not kick-in in such conditions.

Anyone else see this on their Rogue?

Hello, and welcome to the NICO forums!

I have not personally had any stalling issues. Perhaps this is something you should get the dealer to check.

Here is a possibility:

Another member just posted a hard start issue that was related to a fuel pump problem. You could be having the same problem.

I've had the same exact problem during last winter on my 09-SL-AWD Rogue. I waited until the first oil change to report the problem and the service guy told me the most absurd thing: "You'll have to wait for about 30secs for the engine to warm up before you start driving in cold weather". Now I will have to wait until next freezing temperatures to show the problem to the dealer. I am starting to regret my decision to purchase a Nissan Rogue.

Another thought:

You may also want to switch brands of gasoline. It's entirely possible that you a have poorly formulated batch of gasoline.

In my case I always use BP 87

If it was all in the period of a week then I can see how a bad batch of fuel could do that

I noticed the issue over a span of 2000 miles

So it cannot be the fuel

This will be very difficult to reproduce at the dealership

So nowadays I just give it a second after starting before shifting into Drive and I have not seen it happen again
