engine squeaking

I had a squeaking coming from the engine I checked the belts and pulleys nothing there and seemed to hear it more from the back of the engine....I did an oil change b/c I was a little over and it stopped for a day or so...and now it's back. Has anyone else had this happen with their cars?

How long has it been since you have changed the drive belts?

My pulleys were tight and they still made noise. Cause was aftermarket goodyear belts. Put on factory from dealer, problem solved.

If you don't have the fund's or means to change. You can try belt dressing for a temp solution. Can be found at local auto parts store.

all been done within 10k

it didnt do it today...like I said it seems to come from the back of the engine...nowhere near the belts ...and it went away immediately after the oil change and comes back intermittently

how loud is it??? Its not uncommon to hear a groaning noise from the trans... its posisble its coming from the trans..... is the only thing back there that could really make that kind of noise!

Im thinking the same thing but why would an Oil change hush up a transmission noise ?Very weird ..
