I have not gotten around to troubleshooting this yet. I thought I'd check with the community first. Car has had this problem since I bought it a number of years ago. PROBLEM: As soon as the engine hits the powerband (4K on the RPM) a loud squealing can be heard from inside the engine compartment. This condition is worse and most prevalent when the A/C is on. ...yes I have the KA timing chain rattle (I don't think this is related, at least I'd like to think not). Bad A/C compressor? Bad bearing on the pulley? Eminent catastrophic engine failure? Again, this does happen quietly sometimes with the A/C off. It happens consistently when the A/C is on (any time the engine is operating above 4K RPM) ...hot days also seems to affect it.I'm getting a little sick of putting around in this car and never stepping on the gas.

i had the same problem, for me it was the belt, theres a bolt on the alternator that you have to tighten, it tightens the belts. theres other places to tighten the belts i think, im not sure tho, but check it out
