HI all,

So on the way home last night my car started sputtering when trying to accelerate. The car will run, but you can not accelerate it just starts sputtering. There is no engine light on. I am guessing that it is either bad gas, feul pump going out, or injector is partially plugged.

Additional info: this morning I tried it again and it starts fine and was driving to work and was running no problem. after 5-10 min I was headed up a large hill and then the sputtering started again. The symptom would stay for a while then go away for a short period then start again. When I got home I popped the hood and try pulling the spark plug wires to see if it was just one bad injector (the car would idle fine though, with a little pop every now and again) As I pulled each wire then replaced it the same drop in engine idle happened across all four cylinders....

I went to the gas station and filled up the car with the best gas money can buy and the tank took 8 gallons, So I am not sure it was bad gas since I drive till the tank is mostly empty then just fill it up, so I went though 8 gallons of the gas then started having this problem. the drive home from the gas station did not yieled any new results (still sputtering) , but it is not a very far drive to the gas station from my home.

Can it be the fuel pump? Any ideas? the only thing I have done to the car was to wash the engine out 2 days ago, so the day after washing it (just the valve cover and exhaust side of motor) the car ran fine. Nothing else has been done.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or ideas.Eric
